2011 Tennessee Open March 4^th – 6^th 2011
The Tennessee State Open Checker Tournament will be held on (Friday thru Sunday) March 4 - 6, 2011, at the Americas Best Value Inn & Suites, in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Inn is located on Highway 231 (822 Cumberland Street) near I-40 (take exit 238 north off I-40).  The tournament consists of (3) divisions.  Two rounds will be played on Friday, four on Saturday, and two on Sunday.  Registration will begin at 1 PM followed by a business meeting at 3 PM.  Play will start at 4 PM on Friday and end Sunday at 1 PM.  For reservations, call 1-615-449-5781 and tell them you are a checker player.  The room rates will be $42.00 plus tax.  Please make your reservations early.  For more information, call Frank Davis at 1-931-552-4246.  Submitted by Frank Davis.

2011 Illinois State Open April 2^nd – 3^rd 2011

Registration on Saturday is from 8:00-9:00 a.m. with the business meeting at 9:00 a.m. and playing beginning at 9:45 a.m. There will be four rounds on Saturday and three on Sunday. I hope to have enough players for a “C” division to attract beginners. The entry fee will be $10.00.

The Greensboro Open Checker Tournament which is usually scheduled 3rd weekend in April will be held at the Libby Hill Seafood Restaurant, 3011 Randleman Road, Greensboro, NC 27406,(336)-275-7688. We will play 3-Move - five 2 game rounds (Swiss Style) of 1 hour & 15 minutes each.  $15.00 entry fee - Registration Opens: 9:00AM - Play begins 10:00AM - Lunch break after two rounds. (We agreed to eat lunch with Libby Hill for the privilege of using their private room from 8:30am - 6:00pm)  Tim Laverty - Referee & Scorekeeper.
